Etapas del proceso de selección

  1. Resume Screen

Your resume is reviewed against the job requirements for the AI Engineer role. If it meets Google's criteria, a recruiter will contact you to proceed to the next stage. This is a pass/fail screening with no interview component.

  2. Recruiter Call

A 20-30 minute initial conversation with a Google recruiter focused on your background, project experience, and familiarity with machine learning in production. The recruiter assesses alignment between your skills and Google's AI/ML teams, discussing dataset sizes, model performance improvements, and how you communicate technical results and business value.

  3. Technical Phone Screen(s)

One or two rounds lasting 45-60 minutes each, conducted via Google Meet or collaborative coding platforms like Google Docs. You'll solve medium to hard algorithmic problems (arrays, trees, graphs, dynamic programming) and answer ML-specific questions on supervised/unsupervised learning, feature engineering, regularization techniques, and model selection trade-offs. Emphasis is on coding fluency, algorithmic reasoning, and clear communication.

  4. Onsite Interviews (Full Loop)

A full day of 4-6 interview rounds covering coding interviews (data structures and algorithms), ML system design discussions, project deep dives with theoretical questions, and behavioral assessments. Each round typically lasts 45 minutes. For AI Engineer roles, expect detailed discussions on regularization techniques, forward/backward passes, and the reasoning behind technical decisions.

  5. Hiring Committee Review

A third-party hiring committee (Googlers not present during your interviews) reviews feedback packets containing your resume, phone screen feedback, and onsite interview evaluations. This typically takes 1-2 weeks. The committee assesses you on role-related knowledge, general cognitive ability, and cultural fit to remove bias from the hiring decision.

  6. Team Matching & Offer

If approved by the hiring committee, a recruiter works to match you with a team aligned to your skills and interests. This may involve additional interviews with potential team members. Upon successful team matching, you receive an offer and proceed to salary negotiation.
