Etapas del proceso de selección

1. DICAS Application Submission

   Applicants submit a complete application via the DICAS platform, including a 1,000-word personal statement addressing career motivations, experiences, goals, strengths/weaknesses, and reasons for choosing UH Cleveland Medical Center, along with transcripts, references, and resume. The deadline is 11:59pm EST on February 15. No GRE required; work experience in dietetics is beneficial.

2. Application Review by Selection Committee

   A selection committee of internship faculty and preceptors evaluates applications based on academic achievement, personal statement, references, and relevant experience. Candidates are ranked for the computerized matching process through D&D Digital. Reviews prioritize GPA, leadership, and professional development.

3. Computerized Matching

   Programs and applicants submit rankings to D&D Digital; a computer algorithm matches applicants to programs, with results released on Match Day in April. UH participates in this national system for ACEND-accredited dietetic internships. Matched candidates are notified of appointment decisions.

4. Employment Application and Onboarding

   Selected interns complete a formal employment application as temporary full-time employees, including Corporate Health physical (TB shots, urine sample), fingerprinting for background check, and reference checks by HR. A formal position confirmation letter with hospital orientation details is sent. This ensures compliance with hospital policies.

5. Pre-Internship Orientation

   Interns attend hospital orientation covering policies, procedures, and program specifics, scheduled Monday through Friday. Supervised practice rotations begin Tuesdays through Fridays thereafter, emphasizing clinical nutrition over 45 weeks. All interns must provide immunization records and CPR certification.
