Etapas do processo seletivo

1. Prerequisite Completion and Eligibility Check

   Applicants must complete or schedule at least three science and three general education prerequisites with a minimum FGPA of 2.5, retaking any C- or below. Tier One institutions are prioritized, and 40 hours of documented dental hygienist shadowing is required. This initial verification determines basic eligibility before application review.

2. Application Submission

   Submit a completed application including transcripts, prerequisite grades, shadowing documentation, and evidence of interest in underserved care or education. The application is evaluated for quality, completeness, critical thinking, and prior educational experiences. Competitive applications advance to interview invitation.

3. Interview Invitation

   Qualified applicants receive an invitation for a personal virtual interview only after meeting prerequisite thresholds. This step does not guarantee acceptance and can be rescheduled or canceled by the Admissions Committee. Invitations are based on overall application competitiveness.

4. Virtual Interview and Essay

   Conduct a personal virtual interview assessing critical thinking, attitude, communication skills, and familiarity with dental hygiene. Complete a written essay on-site, evaluated for grammar, structure, and content. Duration typically 20-45 minutes including essay.

5. Admissions Committee Review

   The committee holistically reviews interview performance, essay, application details, life experiences, and desire to serve underserved areas. Final decisions consider all factors including ability to benefit from the program. Acceptance notifications follow review.

6. Acceptance Notification

   Successful candidates receive formal acceptance into the BSDH program; interview alone does not ensure admission. Unsuccessful applicants may reapply in future cycles per policy changes. Process managed by Admissions Committee discretion.
